The leader of Chega also said he mentions the topic on television every week and is cooperating with the Public Prosecutor's Office in the investigation into the alleged vandalism of Chega's office in the Assembly of the Republic.

After André Ventura accused Livre of vandalising the office, Rui Tavares, former spokesperson for Livre, said he would sue Ventura. In that regard, when questioned by journalists, the Chega leader said Rui Tavares should do what he sees fit.

"If they are so worried about this, if they are always casting suspicion on Chega, it's because perhaps they themselves know something about it. But do they have proof? Well, they have to have proof; they are the ones always casting suspicion on Chega. Did you ask them if they had proof? Then they spend the entire debate saying that we staged it, that Chega staged it. Perhaps they know more than that," said André Ventura, quoted by Diário de Notícias.
