The U.S. has ended its “de minimis” tariff exemption for low-value imports, meaning that Irish parcels that are not letters, documents, or gifts under €85 now face customs duties.

Food items such as teabags, crisps and chocolate can no longer be mailed from Ireland to the U.S.
An Post emphasises that they will keep parcel services to the U.S. open for Irish businesses and individuals, unlike some European carriers which plan to suspend them.
