Croatia’s government has extended its free public rail travel programme for 2026 to include people with disabilities, alongside children, students, pensioners and citizens aged 65 and over.

The benefit covers direct weekend trains between Zagreb and Pula for eligible residents of Istria County. Officials say the expanded free travel will improve accessibility and encourage greater use of public transport across Croatia.
The direct services were reintroduced on 20 June 2025, restoring a key rail link between the capital and Istria. The trains run on Fridays from Zagreb and on Sundays from Pula, removing the need for transfers.
