The spectacular hillside of Eduardo VII Park has finally shed its construction to become a full-on paradise for book lovers. Having officially opened its gates on 27 May, the highly anticipated 96th edition of the Lisbon Book Fair (Feira do Livro de Lisboa) is now fully underway, welcoming thousands of daily visitors under the warm late-spring sun until 14 June.
Stepping into the park is now a giant outdoor bookstore, as hundreds of pavilions snake up the park’s slopes, representing various publishing brands. The vibrant cultural hub has burst into life with an energetic schedule of more than 2,200 interactive activities, including lively author signings, open-air classical movie screenings, and unique "silent listening" audio sessions. Avid readers are already hunting for treasures among thousands of discounted titles or gathering at food stalls. There is something so great about books bringing people together and outdoors!
