Established in 1926, the park has grown into one of Africa’s most important protected areas, attracting around two million visitors annually. Home to the “Big Five” and a wide range of other wildlife, it is also a major contributor to tourism. Kruger is widely recognised as a leading conservation success story.

Centenary celebrations also highlighted future priorities, including community partnerships and sustainable conservation efforts. Officials said the milestone reflects both the park’s historic achievements and its role in protecting wildlife for future generations.
