The Galé store is marking its 18th anniversary, while the Lagoa branch commemorates 11 years since opening in 2015, and customers visiting either store will be welcomed with complementary pastéis de nata and sparkling wine, as well as benefiting from discounts of up to 50 percent on more than 1,500 products.
As part of the celebrations, Apolónia has created a tasting journey across its various departments, showcasing a carefully selected mix of local produce, national favourites and international specialities.
This experience begins at the bakery, where customers can sample the Maison Heritage butter croissant and rosemary focaccia, followed by the butchery section, as the attention turns to premium US Black Angus sirloin, a beef cut renowned for its exceptional quality and rich flavour.
At the fish counter, visitors will be invited to try Apolonia’s Teriyaki Salmon, combining the delicate texture of fresh salmon with the sweet and savoury notes of traditional Japanese sauce.
The delicatessen department will feature Unika Gammel Knas cheese from Arla, originally from Denmark, the mature cheese is known for its distinctive and complex flavour profile, making it an ideal addition to a premium cheeseboard. At the Lagoa store, customers will also be able to sample Luís Luís Cured Sheep’s Cheese, a traditional Portuguese speciality produced from raw sheep’s milk and thistle rennet.
In the fruit and vegetable section, locally grown Gália melon will highlight the flavours of the Algarve summer, reinforcing Apolónia’s commitment to supporting regional producers and locally sourced products.
For those interested in discovering emerging food and drink trends, Spraga Kombucha will also be available for tasting in both stores, which is produced through natural fermentation using organic tea and live cultures. This low-sugar beverage will be offered in four varieties: Ginger & Lemon, Apple & Pear, Pomegranate and Original.
The wine selection will vary between the two locations. In Galé, customers will have the opportunity to sample limited-production wines from Herdade da Calada in the Alentejo region, including Baron B Reserva Branco 2019, Baron B Reserva Tinto 2017, Caladessa Branco 2019 and Vale da Calada 2021.
