ACCAKIDS Launches Annual Back to School Campaign to Give Every Child a Fair Start

As summer draws to a close, thousands of children across the Algarve are preparing for a new school year. For many families living below the poverty line and children growing up in orphanages, however, the excitement of returning to school is overshadowed by the worry of not having the basic supplies they need.

For over 25 years, ACCAKIDS has been committed to helping vulnerable children throughout the Algarve, and our annual Back to School Campaign is one of our most important initiatives. Every child deserves the opportunity to begin the school year with confidence, dignity and hope.

This year we are asking our wonderful community to help us fill backpacks with essential school supplies, including notebooks, paper, rulers, calculators, pencil cases, coloured pencils, felt-tip pens, scissors, compasses and set squares. Donations of new school items can be dropped off at our collection points until 15 August, or supporters can sponsor a complete backpack.

A donation of €45 provides a fully equipped backpack, while €15 purchases a new backpack for a child in need. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.

Together, we can ensure that no child feels left behind simply because their family cannot afford school essentials. Your generosity will help children start the new academic year ready to learn, dream and succeed.
