According to the IPMA, the districts of Bragança and Vila Real (in the north) and Viseu and Guarda (in the centre) are under a yellow warning due to persistently high maximum temperatures from 9:00 am today until 6:00 pm on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the districts of Castelo Branco (Centre), Portalegre, Évora, and Beja (Alentejo), as well as Faro (Algarve), will be under a yellow warning from 9:00 am on Wednesday until 6:00 pm on Thursday.

Also due to hot weather, the IPMA has extended the yellow warning until 6:00 pm on Thursday for the north and south coasts of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo.

A yellow warning—the least severe on a three-level scale—indicates a risk situation for certain weather-dependent activities, requiring vigilance regarding changing weather conditions.

For the mainland today, the IPMA forecasts mostly clear or sunny skies, with increased cloud cover along the northern and central coast and a slight rise in maximum temperatures in the interior.

Maximum temperatures will range from 25 degrees Celsius in Viana do Castelo and Porto to 36 degrees in Bragança, Castelo Branco, Évora, and Beja.

For the Madeira Archipelago, the IPMA forecasts periods of heavy cloud cover, though skies will generally be mostly clear on the southern slopes until mid-morning, with generally light north/northeasterly winds.

Maximum temperatures will hover around 27 degrees in Funchal and 28 degrees in Porto Santo.
