Data available on the portal at 8:45 am showed that patients at the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital (Barreiro) emergency department were waiting an average of over 11 hours for their first assessment.

Among them, those classified as urgent (yellow wristband) faced a wait of nearly six hours.

Meanwhile, at Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon, the average wait for an initial assessment exceeded seven hours early in the morning; the 17 patients with yellow wristbands had to wait seven hours and 19 minutes.

At Beatriz Ângelo Hospital in Loures, the average wait time in the emergency department for urgent patients hovered around two and a half hours.

Amadora-Sintra Hospital continues to have no data available regarding emergency wait times. This situation has persisted for some time and is attributed on the SNS portal to work being done on information systems.

At Garcia de Orta Hospital in Almada, the average wait for urgent patients also exceeded seven hours.

In the south of the country, emergency wait times are also high; patients in Portimão were waiting an average of over four hours. Urgent patients were waiting nearly three hours, well above the recommended 60 minutes.

According to the triage system, care for “very urgent” cases (orange wristband) is recommended within 10 minutes of triage, while “urgent” cases (yellow) should not wait longer than 60 minutes. For “less urgent” cases (green wristband), the recommended time is 120 minutes.
