The new concept is inspired by Italian pizza-making traditions, with a menu combining classic Italian flavours with some more distinctive options, in a relaxed setting designed for sharing meals with family and friends.
A relaxed retreat
Artisanal pizzas are at the heart of the menu, with classics including Margherita, Quattro Formaggi and Diavola. More unusual options include the Ortolana, made with pumpkin sauce, artichoke, bimi and cherry tomatoes, and the Mortadella e Pistachio, topped with mozzarella, green pesto, mortadella di Bologna and pistachio.
The menu also includes focaccia, garlic bread and a selection of salads, while desserts range from traditional tiramisù and affogato to vegan panna cotta. Drinks include a selection of Portuguese wines, cocktails, natural juices, kombucha, sangria, alongside several alcohol-free options.
The restaurant changes atmosphere as the day progresses, with Marriott describing it as a relaxed retreat during the day before becoming an Italian-style terrace in the evening.
Mediterranean concept
Amarea is one of three dining venues currently listed at Marriott Residences Salgados Resort. The resort is also home to In Season, which offers Mediterranean and seasonal dishes, and Green Artisan, a more casual space serving lighter options, cocktails, kombucha and snacks.
Located in Herdade dos Salgados, close to Salgados Beach, the resort combines residential-style accommodation with hotel facilities. Its residences feature larger living spaces, kitchens and private balconies, while facilities across the resort include 10 outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre, children's activities and access to nearby golf and wellness facilities.
The new Italian concept adds another dining option to the wider Salgados resort area, where the neighbouring Algarve Marriott Salgados Golf Resort & Spa also has several restaurants, including Japanese-inspired KAN.JO and the Italian Amarea Terrazza.
