Hiking is an obvious choice. Lima Escape was named the Best Campsite for Walking in Portugal at the 2026 ACSI Awards, and there are several official walking trails through Peneda-Gerês National Park nearby.

But this time, we decided to explore the area from the water.

Right next to the campsite, you can find Water Barca, which offers several outdoor activities, including electric boats, kayaks and pedal boats, as well as options for exploring the area on land.

We hired one of their boats with an electric motor, which was very quiet and produced no CO2 emissions while operating. It was also very easy to use, so we could simply take our time and enjoy the surroundings.

From the water, we could see the tents and wooden houses of Lima Escape hidden among the trees, while we enjoyed a different view of the landscape of Peneda-Gerês.
