As reported by Sul Informação on 29 September, the award recognises marinas internationally, with the winner in the superyacht category selected through customer voting.

The presentation took place on 23 September at the Southampton International Boat Show, which brings together representatives from the nautical industry and marinas accredited through the Gold Anchor programme.

Marina chief executive Isolete Correia said the award was a source of pride for the team and recognised its daily work to provide a high standard of service.

In comments published by Algarve Primeiro, Correia credited the staff’s dedication and said the recognition encouraged the marina to continue improving the experience it offers customers.

Standards recognition

The latest award adds to a series of international distinctions Vilamoura Marina has received since 2015.

In 2023, it achieved Five Gold Anchor Platinum accreditation, the highest level within the Gold Anchor programme. Algarve Primeiro reported that it was one of just 11 marinas worldwide to hold that status at the time.

The accreditation and the annual award represent separate forms of recognition: the former assesses the marina’s standards, while the Superyacht Marina of the Year title reflects the votes of its customers.
