According to the European statistical office, house prices rose 4.0% in the Eurozone and 4.7% in the European Union (EU) between April and June.
Among the Member States for which data is available, three countries recorded a year-on-year decline in housing prices in the second quarter, while 23 recorded an annual increase.
Portugal recorded the largest increase (16.5%), followed by Bulgaria (15.5%) and Lithuania (14.3%), while the only declines occurred in Finland (-2.7%), Luxembourg (-2.0%), and France (-0.8%).
Compared with the previous period, Lithuania (5.0%), Bulgaria (4.5%), and Romania (4.4%) recorded the largest increases in the second quarter, while Hungary (-1.4%) and France (-0.8%) were the only declines.
In Portugal, house prices rose 3.6% from the previous quarter.
