The initiative draws inspiration from the global 'Cycling Without Age' campaign and follows the slogan 'For the right to feel the wind in your hair'; it is being carried out by the Municipal Health Office and run by volunteers who have received proper training.

The municipal health service states that the main aim of the initiative is to tackle social isolation and loneliness while promoting mental health, self-esteem, and intergenerational links by means of direct interaction with the community and public spaces.

The programme enables the beneficiaries to take part in guided outdoor trips by overcoming physical mobility obstacles without using conventional cars or motorcycles. The trips are completely free and can be arranged directly at the Vila Real de Santo António Municipal Health Office.
