Starting with the 2026/27 season, Disney+ will begin showing NBA games in Portugal as a result of a ten-year deal between The Walt Disney Company and the North American basketball league, with the agreement extending until the 2035/36 season. The games will be broadcast on

ESPN's international feed, which is a sports channel owned by Disney, and will form part of the service's standard lineup with English commentary, which subscribers will be able to access without having to pay extra.

Playoffs and NBA Finals included

The coverage will feature a number of regular-season games—for example, the prominent matches such as those between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers—as well as the All-Star event, the Draft, and the Summer League games. With respect to the postseason, the platform will broadcast up to 24 playoff games each season, making sure that at least one conference final is fully covered every year; the transmission of the Western Conference Finals has already been confirmed for the first season.

The agreement also includes the option of broadcasting the NBA Finals in Portugal on an alternating basis, that is, in the 2026/27, 2028/29, 2030/31, 2032/33, and 2034/35 seasons.

The official announcement gives no reason for the competition's decisive stage adopting this alternating timetable, nor does it state which broadcaster will have the rights for the seasons lying between those covered by the agreement.
