Italian MP Andrea Barabotti has called for the issue to return to the EU agenda. However, the proposal has not resulted in any concrete legislative changes, and member states have yet to reach an agreement on abolishing seasonal clock adjustments across Europe.

Despite renewed discussions, EU countries followed the existing timetable on 25 October, moving clocks back one hour. Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has also called for an end to seasonal changes.

However, the Council of the EU has confirmed that no final decision has been reached, meaning countries must continue observing the current system until new rules are agreed.
