António José Seguro, the candidate with the most votes in the first round of the January 18 presidential elections, will visit a health technology company in Porto this morning.

In the evening, the presidential candidate, supported by the Socialist Party (PS), will hold a rally in Lionesa, Matosinhos, in the Porto district.

André Ventura, the candidate supported by Chega, the party he leads, will campaign in Beja and Alcácer do Sal in the Setúbal district.

At a time when the country is facing a weather-related crisis that began on 28 January, the two presidential candidates continue their campaigns, which have been hampered by the crisis.

Both Seguro and Ventura have already visited some of the areas most affected by Storm Kristin, participated in collecting goods, and donated poster banners.

Citizens will elect the next President of the Republic in a second round after António José Seguro obtained 31.11 percent (1,755,563 votes) in the first round and André Ventura 23.52 percent (1,327,021 votes).

The election will take place on 8 February, with early voting having occurred on Sunday.

The winner of the second round of voting will succeed Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, elected in 2016, whose second term ends in March.
