Thanks to the heavy rainfall over recent months, the natural pools at the Municipal Park of Sítio das Fontes, in Lagoa, have once again filled, creating a refreshing alternative to the region's crowded beaches this summer.

Fed by the Querença–Silves Aquifer, the Algarve's largest underground freshwater reserve, the pools come to life after periods of rain. Water filters through the limestone landscape before emerging at natural springs, replenishing the pools and surrounding waterways.

Located in a peaceful green setting, Sítio das Fontes offers much more than just a place to cool off. Visitors can spend the day enjoying picnic areas, barbecue facilities, public toilets and a children's playground.
