As in previous editions of the festival, which takes place every two years, the Lisbon Metro service will be extended, with the lines connecting Telheiras to Cais do Sodré (Green) and São Sebastião to the Airport (Red) operating later, "with all stations open and six-car trains, reinforcing the public transport offer available for those going to the festival," according to the Lisbon Metro, in a statement released today.

The closest metro station to Parque Tejo is Oriente, where a Carris shuttle service will ensure connections to the park.

Facilitating travel

The Lisbon Metro, “with the aim of facilitating travel, reducing waiting times and avoiding queues, recommends the use of ‘contactless’ bank cards, which allow for direct payment and validation of the trip at the network's validators, without the need to purchase a ticket in advance”.

According to information released by the festival organisation, Carris shuttles will operate between 12 pm and 3 am on each day, and tickets can be purchased on the Rock in Rio Lisboa website and the Navegante app.

The organisation advises the use of public transport to reach the venue and warns of traffic changes during the festival days, “with the implementation of strong restrictions on entry into the northern area of the Parque das Nações parish, particularly on the streets adjacent to Parque Tejo, and in the Bairro do Forte, in Sacavém”.
