In a situation report to the Lusa news agency, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) informed that the fight against all four fires - in the municipalities of Cinfães, Barcelos, Castelo de Paiva and Vouzela - will be reinforced with aerial resources.
Most worrying fire
The fire that most worries the authorities is the one that broke out in Vouzela, in the Viseu district, on Thursday, and reached the Aveiro district, which threatens houses, has already forced the closure of the Vouga railway line between Mourisca do Vouga and Águeda, destroyed a fire truck and some agricultural outbuildings, in addition to causing some damage to houses.
Injured people
According to what Commander José Costa of ANEPC explained to Lusa, three firefighters and one civilian have already been injured, the latter suffering burns and being transported to the hospital.
Other people were treated, but without serious injuries, he said.
The officer also said that, in some places, preventive evacuations were carried out before the fire arrived.
According to Commander José Costa, at 7:00 am, in addition to this fire, authorities were concerned about the fires in Moimenta, in the municipality of Cinfães (Viseu), which mobilised 29 land vehicles and a hundred personnel, the fire in Monte Fralães, in Barcelos (Braga), with 41 land vehicles and 128 personnel, and the fire in Fornos, in the municipality of Castelo de Paiva (Aveiro), which broke out in the early hours of today and had 18 vehicles and 63 personnel.
