The annual event celebrates the Algarve’s conventional confectionery, a culinary tradition rooted in centuries-old recipes passed down through Portuguese convents. Visitors will be able to sample cakes, jams, honey, and regional drinks such as aguardente de medronho, all in a convent-inspired setting.
This year’s programme includes showcooking sessions, children’s pastry workshops and cultural entertainment, along with the opening of Cinedoce, an exhibition by artist Ana Remígio.
More than a gastronomic fair, the Conventual Sweets Fair highlights Lagoa’s commitment to preserving heritage, promoting local producers and showcasing the unique flavours that continue to shape the region’s cultural identity.
