The official inauguration of the hotel took place on September 12th, although it has been open since the end of August.

The project is owned by Marugal, a European company focused on managing luxury and boutique hotels, as reported by Sul Informação. The company has projects in other European countries such as France, Spain, Switzerland, and Portugal. The Tavares Palace is now a hotel following the renovation of the historic building located in the city centre.

A new area, dubbed the Medina, was added to the historic building, featuring labyrinthine pathways, hidden terraces, and two rooftop pools.

The architecture was designed by Fragmentos, a studio that also completed the entire renovation of the 18th-century palace, while preserving some of the building's original features.

In total, the hotel has 36 rooms, and the interior design was designed by Isabel da Câmara Pestana. The food served at the hotel is created by Algarve chef Fábio Domingues, in a hotel that also offers wellness services.
