The competition is looking for images that capture the movement of the Algarve. From the ever-changing ocean and boats navigating the coastline to transport in all its forms, wildlife in motion, sporting activities, and the motion of everyday life, entrants are invited to interpret the theme creatively and reveal the unique energy of the region.

Twelve winning images will be selected for inclusion in Madrugada's 2027 charity calendar, with all proceeds helping to fund the charity's free hospice-at-home service for patients and families across the Algarve.

Everyone is encouraged to enter, whether using a camera or a mobile phone. Each person may submit up to three landscape-format photographs.

The closing date for entries is 31 July 2026.

By taking part, entrants will not only have the opportunity to see their work featured in the calendar but will also be supporting a local charity that provides compassionate end-of-life care, free of charge, to patients and their families in the Algarve.

Entries should be sent to madrugada2027calendar@gmail.com, clearly stating the entrant's name as they would like it to appear in the calendar should their photograph be selected.
