The result surprised fans, but the organisation clarifies that the scrutiny ignored subjective factors such as charisma, style, or media projection, focusing exclusively on the rigorous geometry of the athletes' features.

Methodology

The methodology employed the ancient concept of the golden ratio, a mathematical formula inherited from Ancient Greece that dictates universal standards of harmony and balance, with an ideal value for facial symmetry approaching 1.618 (known as the Phi constant).

The technology analysed precise anatomical variables, such as the length and width of the face, the exact distance between the eyes, and the proportionality of the nose and lips.

By translating these parameters into percentages, the algorithm awarded first place on the world podium to Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul, who registered a mathematical conformity of 74.18%.

The South American narrowly surpassed German forward Kai Havertz (74.10%) and English winger Noni Madueke (73.29%), who completed the podium, with Egyptian Mohamed Salah and young Brazilian Endrick closely following.

Portuguese players are still in the ranking

Despite the statistical disappointment surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo, other players from the Portuguese squad represented the national colours well at the top of the table.

The best Portuguese position belongs to the Algarve midfielder João Neves, from Tavira, who ranked 12th worldwide by displaying one of the most balanced facial structures in the tournament, according to the algorithm's criteria.

Proof of this is that other global superstars with strong commercial impact, such as Brazilian Vinícius Júnior, finished close to Ronaldo at the bottom of the table, in 46th place (70.97%), while names like Neymar, Jude Bellingham, or Arda Güler achieved intermediate performances. The study fueled debate and curiosity among fans outside of football, although within the teams, there is a prevailing premise that true symmetry and effectiveness must be validated with the ball at their feet and in their on-pitch performance.
