According to information available on the website of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the municipalities of Sertã, Vila de Rei, Vila Velha de Ródão (Castelo Branco), Sardoal, Mação (Santarém), Gavião (Portalegre), Santiago do Cacém (Setúbal), Serpa, Mértola, Castro Verde and Almodôvar (Beja), Alcoutim, Loulé, Tavira and São Brás de Alportel (Faro) are at maximum risk of wildfires.
The risk of wildfires will worsen significantly from Friday, June 19, with half or more of mainland Portugal at maximum and very high risk.
