The Portuguese football star and Georgina married in a private civil ceremony in Cascais on 11 August, with Ronaldo's management confirming the news. The couple also shared a photo of their wedding rings on social media, simply writing "C ❤️ G".
But their story began far away from the glamorous life they share today.
Instant connection
The couple first met in 2016, when Georgina was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid, and Ronaldo walked into the shop. At the time, he was playing for Real Madrid and was already one of football's biggest names.
Georgina has spoken several times about their first meeting and the immediate connection she felt with Ronaldo. Their paths crossed again shortly afterwards at an event, where they had the chance to speak in a more relaxed setting, away from her workplace.
Their relationship soon became public. They were spotted together at Disneyland Paris towards the end of 2016, before appearing together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
Family life
Their family also quickly grew. In November 2017, Georgina gave birth to their first daughter together, Alana Martina. She also became a mother figure to Ronaldo's three older children, Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva and Mateo.
In 2021, they announced they were expecting twins, but in April 2022, Ronaldo and Georgina shared the sad news that their baby boy had died during childbirth. Their daughter Bella Esmeralda was born safely.

By then, Georgina was already well known in her own right. The former Gucci shop assistant went on to work as a model and later appeared in her own Netflix series, I Am Georgina, which gives viewers a look at her everyday life with Ronaldo and their children.
Private ceremony
Marriage had been talked about for years. In August 2025, Georgina confirmed they were engaged. She posted a photo of her engagement ring on Instagram with the words: "Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives."

Ronaldo had already spoken about marriage before, saying he knew it would happen one day, but that they were waiting for the right time.
One year after announcing their engagement, they finally married. The couple chose Cascais for their private civil ceremony on 11 August 2026, almost ten years after they first met.

Ronaldo, who is now 41, currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, but Portugal remains an important part of the family's life.

Their lives today are very different from when they first met in that Gucci shop in Madrid in 2016. Almost ten years later, after having children together, moving between several countries and going through both happy and very difficult moments as a family, they are now officially husband and wife.
