According to information on the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) website, the fire that began at 6:58pm on Saturday in the parish of Cabeça Boa (Torre de Moncorvo municipality, Bragança district) involved 337 personnel and 110 vehicles, and had spread to the neighbouring municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães.
At 7:00am, a fire that broke out at 4:04am on Sunday in Ardãos (Boticas municipality, Vila Real district) also remained uncontrolled, with 236 personnel and 83 vehicles deployed.
The fire that started at 2:26pm on Sunday in Senhora da Rocha (Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo district) was also uncontained, involving 137 personnel and 43 ground units.
According to the ANEPC, at 7:00am, a fire that began at 2:08pm on Sunday in Vila Boa de Choirs and Maureles (Marco de Canaveses municipality, Porto district) was still active, with 51 personnel and 16 vehicles fighting the blaze.
As for the fire that had been burning since around 3:15pm on Sunday in the municipality of Oliveira de Azeméis (Aveiro district), which at one point involved 124 personnel and 39 vehicles, it was brought under control during the early hours of the morning.
750 firefighters are battling four fires in northern Portugal
As of 7:00am, more than 750 firefighters were battling four blazes in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, and Porto; the fire in Torre de Moncorvo required the largest deployment of resources, according to civil protection authorities.
