The latest market forecasts point to an increase of around 3.5 cents per litre for simple diesel, while 95-octane petrol is expected to rise by around 2.5 cents per litre.
The estimates were reported by SAPO Auto, citing sources in the fuel market, and are in line with projections published on Friday by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP).
If the forecasts are confirmed, the average price of simple diesel is expected to reach around €2.072 per litre, while 95-octane petrol should rise to approximately €1.989 per litre.
The latest increase comes after motorists already faced considerably higher prices this week. Data from Portugal's Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) show that simple diesel rose from €1.966 per litre last Friday to €2.026 on Monday, while 95 petrol increased from €1.885 to €1.954 over the same period.
Fuel prices have been under continued pressure in recent weeks amid volatility in international oil markets.
Brent crude has remained above $90 a barrel, with uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and tensions between the United States and Iran continuing to affect the market.
The final amount motorists pay can differ from the national average, as prices vary depending on the fuel station, operator and location.
The forecasts for next week are also provisional and may still be adjusted before the new prices take effect on Monday.
