LagoaMagicFest returns from 8 to 10 October for its sixth edition, bringing three days of illusion and live performances to different locations across the municipality.
The International Illusionism Festival will once again combine street performances with its main event, the International Gala, which will take place at the Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium.
On 8 and 9 October, the festival will head outside with its "Magic in the Street" programme. Performances will take place in public spaces as well as schools and care homes, allowing the festival to reach audiences of different ages across Lagoa.
These performances are free to attend.
The festival will then culminate on Saturday, 10 October, with the Grand International Gala, bringing together seven magicians for an evening dedicated to different styles of magic and illusion.
The show begins at 9pm at the Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium in Lagoa, with tickets priced at €10 and available online through the BOL ticketing platform.
LagoaMagicFest has grown into one of the municipality's established cultural events since its first edition in 2021.
This year's festival is being produced by the recently created Lagoa Academy of Illusionism (AIL), with artistic direction and organisation led by Algarve magician Paulo Cabrita, who is also president of the academy.
Based in Lagoa, the non-profit cultural association was created to promote illusionism and magical arts in the Algarve.
Alongside LagoaMagicFest, which is its main project, the academy organises shows, workshops, artistic training, cultural initiatives and educational activities aimed at bringing the world of magic to a wider audience.
The 2026 edition also has the support of Benecar and the Ferragudo Parish Council.
With performances moving beyond the traditional theatre setting and into everyday spaces around Lagoa, the festival aims to make magic accessible to everyone before finishing with its international gala on Saturday night.
