According to the same news outlet, the damage to the camera, located on the EN125 in Faro, can be seen on the bulletproof glass that protects the camera's photographic system.
The camera is located at kilometre 102 of the EN125, where the speed limit is 70 kilometres per hour. The camera is properly identified and is among the five that detect the most speeding violations. Consequently, it is one of the cameras that issues the most fines to drivers.
Damage caused
Correio da Manhã reports that the damage is mainly to the bulletproof glass that protects the camera, and it is suspected that a firearm was used to vandalise the camera.
To Correio da Manhã, the police forces GNR, PSP and PJ revealed that they have no knowledge of the incident, so no investigation is being carried out.
