"The war officially ended yesterday morning [15 June] on all fronts," said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, quoted by Iranian state television IRIB.

Abbas Araghchi said that "any Israeli attack against Lebanon is a violation of the understandings" reached.

"From our point of view, the two parties to this agreement are the United States and Israel, on the one hand, and Iran and Hezbollah, on the other," he stressed.

"The end of the war in Lebanon is an inseparable part [of the agreement]," he said, reiterating that "the war will not end until Israel withdraws from the Lebanese territories it has occupied," according to the Mehr news agency.

The Iranian Minister also confirmed that on 19 June, "there will be a new round of negotiations" with the United States in Geneva, Switzerland, aimed at "reaching a final agreement."

"After three months of negotiations, we managed to conclude the first phase [of the talks]," Araghchi stated.

The preliminary agreement extends the ceasefire in effect since 8 April for 60 days and establishes a negotiating framework for future talks on the nuclear agreement.

The commitments guarantee the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a progressive lifting of sanctions on Tehran.

Israel occupies large areas of southern Lebanon in response to attacks by the pro-Iranian radical group Hezbollah and continues to bomb the neighbouring country despite the announcement of the agreement brokered by Pakistan.

Since the start of hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite movement, as part of the war launched by the US and Israel against Iran, approximately 3,800 people have been killed in Lebanon alone by Israeli attacks, which have also forced more than one million people to flee their homes.
