Although many people refer to the whole area as Armação de Pêra Beach, it is actually made up of several beaches. The first is Praia do Vale do Olival, where you can begin a beautiful coastal walk towards Porches. Closer to the town centre is Praia dos Pescadores (Fisherman's Beach), while the beach at the western end of the town is officially called Praia de Armação de Pêra, which then continues into Praia Grande.

Thanks to its size, there is something for everyone. If you enjoy being close to cafés, restaurants and other amenities, you'll find plenty of options near the town. If you prefer a quieter spot, keep walking towards Praia Grande, where the beach becomes more peaceful and spacious.
Armação de Pêra is one of the Algarve's best-known seaside towns and remains especially popular with Portuguese holidaymakers, particularly during the summer months when many families from the north of the country spend their holidays here.

This is also one of the best beaches in the Algarve for walking. You can easily spend a few hours strolling along the shoreline, with enough space to walk for several kilometres towards Praia da Galé and back. If you prefer not to walk on the sand, there is also a boardwalk that starts at the end of Armação de Pêra and continues alongside Praia Grande and the Salgados area, offering beautiful coastal views along the way.
Best for: Long beach walks, families, calm waters, beach cafés and restaurants, and anyone looking for one of the Algarve's longest sandy beaches.
