Multicare has introduced optional oral health cover to most of its standard health insurance policies, ECO News reports.
The new option provides access to a range of preventive dental services at no additional cost, including evaluation appointments, tartar removal, panoramic X-rays, fluoride application, dental sealants, orthodontic and implantology studies, and one restoration. More complex treatments remain available at agreed prices through the Multicare Dental Network.
According to the insurer, the new cover aims to improve access to preventive dental care and encourage patients to seek treatment before oral health problems become more serious.
The optional cover is available for both individual and group health insurance policies. Multicare says the addition is intended to help families manage healthcare costs while allowing employers to expand the health benefits offered to staff.
The insurer has also updated its standalone oral health insurance product to include access to its Online Medicine service, offering General and Family Medicine and Paediatrics consultations at no additional cost.
Maria Brandão de Vasconcelos, Multicare’s Director of Products and Marketing, said the new cover reinforces the company’s commitment to providing “simple, accessible and tailored” health insurance solutions for customers.
