Ervideira is once again opening its vineyards for a special night-time harvest experience, where visitors can pick grapes, take part in the traditional grape stomping and enjoy a guided wine tasting.

The experience begins at the estate’s Wine Lounge with an introduction to Ervideira and its history before guests head out into the vineyards after sunset.

There, participants will join the harvest itself, picking grapes while learning about the different grape varieties grown by the winery and the two Alentejo terroirs that shape the character of its wines. Along the way, the team explains how climate, soil and growing conditions influence the final result in the bottle.

One of the highlights of the evening is the traditional grape stomping, giving visitors the opportunity to experience one of Portugal's oldest winemaking traditions, which continues to be closely associated with the harvest season.

The programme also includes a guided tour of the winery, where guests can taste freshly pressed grape juice, known as mosto, and see the first stages of the winemaking process before fermentation begins.

The evening finishes with a guided wine tasting led by Ervideira producer Duarte Leal da Costa, who shares the stories behind each wine and explains the different winemaking techniques used. The tasting is accompanied by a selection of regional products.

The Night Harvest Experience will take place on 28 August, from 9 pm until midnight, at Herdade da Herdadinha in the Alentejo. Participation costs €65 per adult, and bookings can be made through Ervideira's official website, by telephone or by email.
